Sitia city beach. | |
The last major town of eastern Crete, Sitia is pretty, tidy, quiet, and the jump off point for the Dodecanese, since the ferry boats to Karpathos and Rhodes leave from here. A working town, serving the considerable acgricultural industry of the area, Sitia is also the last major metropolitan area before the rugged east coast of the island. A few decent hotels are here, and the seaside taverns offer delicious menus at very reasonable prices. The beach is wonderful and worth spending a few hours in. http://nylou.com/html/ent/797/ent.16797.1.asp? Sitia is connected with Athens and other destinations with airport and port. http://www.hcaa-eleng.gr/sitia.htm link for sitia airport |
